The Foundation teaches the core shamanism methods developed by Michael Harner to thousands of students each year. This has led to a revival of shamanic healing in a contemporary context. In addition to its training programs, FSS works to preserve and revive indigenous shamanism, researches the effectiveness of shamanic healing, and through MONOR (Mapping of Non-ordinary Reality), is involved in a long-term project to develop the world's foremost database of cross-cultural accounts of shamanic journeys, near-death, and other non-ordinary explorations.
