Sharon Van Raalte, M.A.

Sharon Van Raalte has worked in many areas. From designing photographic exhibitions and publications and co-producing/directing two documentary films in the Canadian Arctic with the National Film Board of Canada, to coordinating an international exhibition of Inuit sculpture and developing and implementing federal cultural policy, she acknowledges that her career opportunities have been rich and varied.  She credits her experiences in the Arctic with helping to awaken the spiritual side of her nature.  That, along with the birth of her two daughters, put her in touch with the power and simple grandeur of natural events and natural environments and set her off on a lifelong quest to understand the dimensions of the human spirit and the trajectory of the human experiment. She studied for a Master's degree in Transpersonal Psychology at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology , while doing the advanced training with the Foundation for Shamanic Studies. Her thesis explores Shamanism and Psychiatry. She has been on the International Faculty of the Foundation since 1995 and has a counseling practice.
